What Sitewalk does
Handover inspections for new homes and fit-outs produce hundreds of photos and scribbled notes. Sitewalk uses the phone camera and AI to describe each defect, tag its room and trade, and send a structured report to the right contractor — even with no signal on site.
Key decisions
The camera is the form.
Every snag starts as a photo. The AI proposes a description, severity and trade, and the inspector accepts or corrects it with a tap.
Corrections become examples.
Each correction feeds future suggestions, so the app gets better through use rather than configuration.
No contractor app in version one.
Contractors get a shared web report instead. A second app would double the build before the inspector’s side is proven.
A snagging walk takes an hour. Writing it up takes a day.
Inspectors and site managers walk each unit taking photos and notes, then rebuild everything at a desk: matching photos to rooms, describing defects, working out which trade is responsible and chasing fixes by email.

The site inspector

The assumption to prove
AI descriptions of defect photos are good enough that inspectors will confirm them rather than write their own.
Make the camera the interface. Every capture gets an AI-suggested description, severity and trade that the inspector accepts or corrects with a tap. Corrections become examples that improve the suggestions.

The photo carries most of the information. Opening straight into the camera removes the slowest step.
Wait for AI or keep moving?
Keep moving
Suggestions arrive in the background. Inspectors review a batch per room instead of waiting per photo.
How to show AI uncertainty?

Low-confidence suggestions are marked for review, so trust is focused where it's needed.
